The Kings stayed in the contest through Sione Tevita-Semisi and a two-try performance from Eddie Oliver. Kobe Kelly converted all three Melbourne tries.
Oliver earned player of the match with 224 metres, two tries and 24 tackles. White finished with 197 metres, a try, three conversions and the late penalty.
